i+Porc SPANISH PIG PRODUCERS’ CLUSTER
DESCRIPTION
i+Porc is the Spanish Pig Producers’ Cluster. It was set up to improve the competitiveness of the associated companies (more than 47 members including producers, technological partners and collaborators) through cooperation and innovation, providing effective responses to the challenges of the sector. The complementarity of the activities of the participating companies, together with the promotion of innovation and joint research, are the fundamental tools for i+Porc to favour the increase in productivity and the general sustainability of the industry.
This collaborative work between the associated companies and other agents or collaborating institutions increases the capacity to perceive new customer needs, new technological, commercial or production possibilities, which will make it possible to anticipate market demands. i+Porc aims to position Spanish pig production at the global forefront, with a focus on sustainability, animal welfare, innovation, efficiency and technification; so that the sector is recognised internationally as a sustainable, dynamic, modern, innovative, efficient, safe and quality sector.
The cluster aims to provide its members with access to specialised resources, to promote the employment and training of professionals in the sector, to develop R&D&I programmes, to promote multi-institutional and multidisciplinary collaboration, etc., always acting as a coordinator between the industrial partners and the scientific-technical-educational community.
