The main objective of the project is to obtain graphene by means of a new low-cost production method and its subsequent characterization and post-processing for photovoltaic use. Graphene has a number of properties that make it a unique material. It is the first material developed that has two dimensions, being the thinnest and the most resistant at the same time. It is the best conductor of heat, conducts electricity more efficiently than copper, is virtually transparent and is so dense that no gas can pass through it. Most importantly, it is a potential replacement for silicon chips in computing. To take advantage of these benefits, it is necessary to create an abundant, defect-free mass production system for graphene and, above all, with high quality standards that make it possible to use it in numerous applications. The development of the project represents an economic and strategic objective of vital importance for EEA, as it aims to position itself in a novel, high-tech market by offering a quality product at a lower cost than currently established.
