This system allows stereoscopic visualization of three-dimensional information and its manipulation by means of a gesture-based user interface. The characteristics of this device make it very interesting for its application in those fields where the understanding of complex three-dimensional information is crucial, such as, for example, the preview of engineering and architectural projects or the analysis of radiological data in medicine.
The visualization and interaction software included in the system allows the rotation, scaling and displacement of objects in space, as well as various immersive navigation modes that have been developed with the aim of providing a flexible and usable tool for both expert and novice users. Another important feature is head-tracking, which allows recalculating the images taking into account the observer’s point of view.
